The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) organized an online meeting with Fawry for e-payment services, on September 19, through EgyptInnovate platform.
The meeting presented Fawry’s success story, as the first Egyptian technology company with a market value exceeding USD one billion. It also discussed the stages of the company's development, the difficulties it faced, and how it managed to overcome them to achieve such success, as well as the role that Fawry can play to support entrepreneurs.
Moreover, the meeting shed light on the different stages of startups and how Fawry became a “unicorn,” in addition to how startups can think of the obstacles they face as new opportunities for innovation.
TIEC was established in 2010. It is the first European Business Network (EBN) certified member in Egypt, the second in Africa, and the fourth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. TIEC aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the ICT sector, which contributes to boosting the national economy.
