Brussels, 17 October 2022: Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), of Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), renewed its membership of the European Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN). The membership renewal came after the European network evaluated TIEC for the previous period and verified that the Center continues to implement its strategies and activities in accordance with the international standards adopted by the Network. EBN standards must be met by all its accredited members so that the network approves the renewal of their membership for the next five years.
EBN Network is the most influential global assembly of innovation and entrepreneurship centers. It was set up in 1984 as a joint initiative of the European Commission, European industry leaders and the first pioneering Business and Innovation Centers at that time. EBN is now the leading non-governmental pan-European network bringing together 149 members from 35 countries around the world, including 106 accredited members, making it one of the leading global innovation and entrepreneurship systems.
In the same context, the European Network, EBN, issued a report entitled "2022 EU|BIC Impact Report", which underlined the important role TIEC plays in promoting sustainable development by enabling innovation ecosystems. The Center contributes to positioning Egypt as a preferred destination for investments in the ICT industry.
EBN Report also emphasized the central role played by Egypt’s Creativa Innovation Hubs within university campuses in various governorates, such as the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. TIEC, as well as other local innovation hubs, aim to support, encourage and assist students, graduates, entrepreneurs as well as startups to effectively participate in achieving digital transformation in various sectors.
It is worth mentioning that the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center obtained the network accreditation for the first time in July 2014. It is considered the first and only Center to obtain this accreditation in Africa and second in the Middle East. The value of membership lies in providing opportunities for Egyptian entrepreneurs through communication, through the Center, with European institutions, organizations and EBN members around the world.
