IP Strategy Training & Consultation Program
About the program:

The protection of intellectual property (IP) is a key in attracting investments from other countries and stimulating the development of domestic industries. Proper protection of IP is a tool and a driving force for moving less developing economies into the next stage. Egypt is committed to protecting intellectual property rights (IPR). It has already made significant progress in enhancing the level of IP protection and now compares favorably to other locales. From a regional point of view, enhanced recognition of Egypt’s competence in this area will strengthen the country’s legitimacy as an innovation hub in the Middle East.

The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) is launching IP support program that supports SMEs in the ICT field in Egypt. The training will provide an important opportunity for learning up-to-date knowledge on intellectual property systems and gaining hands-on experience in patent and trademark practices along with providing SMEs information about creating IP portfolios and setting IP strategies.

Objectives:
Raising awareness in SMEs of the importance of IP protection, in order to include it as a tool in the management of innovation and business process through IP rights workshops training.

Supporting universities, in building a strong, innovative economy as a deeper understanding of the economic impacts of intellectual property rights on creators and users of IP, will eventually translate to wider benefits in the economy.

Improving the protection of SMEs’ IP rights through the increased registration of rights.

Removing the ambiguity associated with IP in Egypt associated with filing process.
