TIEC Organized Hack for Alex for Societal Challenges
Alexandria,8 May 2016

The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), in cooperation with the General Division of the Computer and Software of the Federation of Egypt Chambers of Commerce (FECC), organized Hack for Alex, on May 4-6, at Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, with the aim to use new technologies—including the Internet of Things (IoT)—to come up with solutions to societal challenges.

The Hackathon is a software development competition where teams of developers are developing new software components or products within a specified limited time.

Hackathons target promoting new software technologies which is one of TIEC goals.

TIEC will start a series of hackathons to engage developers at different levels of expertise and backgrounds in new and emerging software technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT).

Participants bring team with practitioners, come up with innovative applications that help solve the previewed challenges, develop their application/solutions and demonstrate solutions to the panel of judges. Participants need to learn about new technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), find innovative fixes to persistent problems, stay current and connected to the makers and entrepreneurs and attract and recruit top talent to join the team.
